Mayfar Games is creating a pre-2007 adapter kit for Settlers of Catan which includes an outer frame that encloses the island of Catan and harbor pieces.

This kit also allows compatibility between Seafarers of Catan and pre-2007 Settlers Editions.

Out on mid-March.

Mayfair Game is planning to release Catan Board Game: Gallery Edition on September 18.

This version of the game tries to be faithful to the Catan spirit, keeping all of it’s gameplay but focused for the mainstream. There are less hexes and all the pieces will be plastic and not wood.

The game should have a more friendly price of 30$, so cheap means mainstream I guess.
