Those guys at Wizards are choosing someone to go to the Invitational through user votes on their boards.

An Invitational is, for all of you that don’t know, a tournament top players are invited (who would guess?) to go, the prize is nothing less than the opportunity to design a magic card where creator usually appears in the art. I think it’s a tournament all Magic players dream to go, even more than Pro Tours.

I wish all the luck for those guys, BUT as I am portuguese I ask of all portuguese (and even non-portugueses) to vote for Tiago Chan, so we can have a Tuga (it’s slang, meaning “someone from Portugal”) with a possibility to design a card! Come on people, start voting, do it for the team, even if you have to register on the Wizards board only to vote.

Tugas Power!

For those who know me, you know that I don’t really pay attention to Pro Tours and those great Magic tournaments all around the world, but if it’s a portuguese winning one of those great tournaments i feel I should write about it!

Tiago Chan won the 2007 Magic Invitational!

What does it mean? He gets to design his own card, this is what he submitted:

Denying Channel
Land
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
2UU, Discard Denying Channel: Counter target spell.

It’s a damn solid card, giving you a land early game and a hard counter later in game (instead of a dead land). Now we can only hope that Wizard’s doesn’t underpower this card that much (though I can see them either putting it coming to play tapped and/or upping the ability cost)
