Fantasy Flight games is looking for people to work on making games.

I’m sure they won’t find difficulties in finding someone, but if you’re interested in being a Senior Roleplaying Game developer (for Warhammer Fantasy and/or 40k Roleplay) look no further.

Fantasy Flight published the first article of what seem to be a series of articles for beginners in miniature painting.

I’m sure every Descent owner has thinked once or twice about painting his miniatures, and many did paint them, but others cried for their lack of skill.

Maybe these are the articles which will make me finally gain some courage to paint my beloved miniatures!

Fantasy Flight is brewing up Arkham league play. I’m quite interested in how all this will work out, but unfortunately for me I don’t have all the Arkham expansions so I can only play two scenarios :(

Here are the guidelines for participating:

  • A team can consist of 2-8 investigators.
  • All players can choose which investigator they would like to be.
  • A player may not change investigators unless they are devoured during a game.
  • Each scenario may be played multiple times, but a League Results form must be filled out after every time, and only the best result will be used.
  • The first and second scenarios will be from the base game. Scenarios 3 and 4 will include elements from the Dunwich Horror. Scenarios 5 and 6 will include elements from The King in Yellow. Scenarios 7 and 8 will include elements from The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh and Kingsport. The final two scenarios will include elements from all the sets.
  • Results will be posted and updated right here, on the Arkham Horror website.
  • All forms need to be e-mailed to JR Godwin.

Also for Descent gamers who got a little bit disappointed with the last Descent contest, here’s a new one. this time it’s your writing skills on the line as you have to create a hero complete with bio and stats.

Here are the rules:

  • All entries must be received by July 10th, 2008.
  • Contest winner will be announced in the third week of July.
  • Five entries max per person.
  • Submitted character biographies and stats may be posted on the FFG website.
  • Participants in this contest cannot be an employee of FFG.

Winner gets a Tomb of Ice expansion [bgg] and a  set of four promotional Descent figures.

Fans of Rio Grande games salivating for reprints can now rest as Rio Grande will be reprinting Race for the Galaxy [bgg | eBay] in July and Ra [bgg | eBay] including two player rules in September, no plans for the reprint of Goa yet.

Also if you’re dreaming of finding a job in the game industry, Fantasy Flight is in need of someone in the costumer service area, so if costumer service and games are your thing you might just have a good chance.

Fantasy Flight announced that all products in the Mutant Chronicles Collectible Miniatures Game will now be released in a non-random window box format. These products should be available in shops in the first week of August.

The goes the C in the CMG (Collectible miniatures game).

The initial set of the Mutant Chronicles CMG will turn into 14 different products, released over about 10-12
weeks, each containing between 3-4 figures with a price of $19.95.

I always found the collectible part of games a little like saying “Well, if you’ve got lots of cash you’ve got a better game”, it’s nice seeing companies trying to set a standard level of play for all players.

Also with collectible games there is a tendecy to have a lot of suboptimal product just to allow rares mega-rares and stuff, this way even the game designers can stop having to put out crap and concentrate on high level components.

This change makes me want to try Mutant chronicles to see what’s the deal :p

Another game I’m aching to try is War of the Ring [bgg|eBay] I was even waiting for the Deluxe edition to get it, but turns out the Deluxe edition isn’t just a revising of the game but an ultra pimped up version that will go for big bucks so no Deluxe version for me :(
