Steve Jackson has stated that he will be at SPIEL (perhaps you know it as Essen) this October.
Better yet, the lucky people who’ll attend will be able to check out Munchkin Quest for the first time.

| Here are some games daVinci will be showing in Essen this year:

With a similar theme comes Amerigo, a card game by the Taiwanese designer Din Li. Winner of the “Best Unpublished game” award offered by daVinci and Lucca Comics & Games in 2007, the prize is now its publishing.

Also in Essen the Italian version of Start Player will be released.
This edition will feature some of the best cards from this game which basically makes you choose a card and read it to choose a starting player for other game (I really need this game, I’m sick of dice and summoning devils to choose the starting player). This game was designed by Ted Alspach of Board 2 Pieces fame. |
Lupusburg is a reworking of Werewolf for smaller groups. No master is needed to moderate this game which is a boon as the master usually acts more as a referee than an actual player.
From 3 to 8 players. Lupusburg will be released this winter and previewed in Essen. |
Queen games will present 3 “new” games for Essen:
Alhambra anniversary edition, that’s an anniversary edition for Alhambra (bet you didn’t guess that), Chicago Express (also known as Wabash Cannonball) and Alhambra - Die Macht des Sultans (which I can roughly translate as “The Sultans’ Power”).
I wonder what that anniversary edition will bring to Alhambra (which I have been wanting to try for a long time but haven’t yet).
Seeing as I as many gamers out there will be staying home this weekend, here’s a nice SPIEL 2008 coverage.
So, hey guys and girls, what are you doing this weekend?
