Mr. Jack is a 2 player game in which one of the players is the Detective and the other is Jack the Ripper.

This medium/light game takes about 40 minutes of play and has a set of very simple yet deep rules.

The goal of the detective is to uncover the identity of Mr. Jack and the goal of Jack is to either escape from the game board or to not be uncovered in the game’s 8 turns.

Arkham Horror is a 1 to 8 player game in which the players play the roles of Investigators of the supernatural trying to avoid doom brought forth by an Ancient One (something like an evil god). It has been said that this is a game for Lovecraft fans, but it is also a game for horror fans in general and for people who appreciate difficult games.

Puerto Rico is a 3 to 5 player game in which the players are plantation owners who perform several roles which benefit all but in the end the one who picks the right roles at the right time will be the winner.

Dominion is a 2 to 4 players in which the main mechanic is deck building.

You read that right, this game is more about the deck of cards you end up with than the cards you play in the game. I find it a very original approach which will no doubt be copied in the future by other games.

It’s a medium/light game that takes about 30 minutes of play, very simple to grasp and with a good amount of choices. It’s one of my favorite “filler” games already and I’m always ready to play it.

The objective of this game is to end up with the most victory points in your deck, seeing as those victory serve no purpose on the deck while actually playing, there is a balance to be maintained between cards you can play and cards that will ultimately make you win.
