About Tiago

My name is Tiago, I’m from Portugal, and I love playing board games, card games.

This love affair started when I bought my first deck of Magic the Gathering 4th Edition. Even though I didn’t know how to play the game that well, I was completely hooked by the art of the cards and by the complex mechanics that I hadn’t seen in any other game (I only had played a few games of monopoly and trivia games at that age).

Even though I loved that game, I soon lost interest for it.

Years later I found my Tempest and 4th Edition magic cards lying around and thought to myself “Wow this is kinda cool, why did I stop playing this?”.

I set out to buy some of the new stuff on the shops which was the Torment Expansion, it had a dark tone with lots of black cards, needless to say I got hooked once again. I even tried playing at some tournaments but with little success.

And then after 2 years or some I quit… :P

I remember playing Monopoly once or twice before obviously some years later finding my cards again in storage and start playing once more (this time in time spiral).

I tried to pass on the little magic bug to my girlfriend, which I did, and so we played magic happily ever after.

So, what does this have to do with board games?

Well you see, I hapen to have realized at that point that I was kind of a geek, I mean I like fantasy, sci-fi, weird games, I’m a sucker for new tech, yes all the traits of a super geek.

So one day with our geek friends we tried out  bunch of board games and I felt that feeling again of when I played Magic for the first time, a tingling sensation that made me play more and more games.

So here we are.

Oh I haven’t talked about the comic yet and how this all comes together?

Well I had tried drawing several comics online with litle success, one was even a video game related one. But none of them felt realy my thing. When I began returned to playing Magic in Time Spiral, something just clicked, this game was my favorite hobby, and almost no one in comics was talking about it, so I went forward with it. As my taste in games broadened up, so did the comic.

And that’s the whole story.
