I was talking with some guys about how tolkienish Lorwyn was and this card popped up in my mind:
The Ring
Mana Cost: 0
Artifact - Equipment
When The Ring is attached to a creature, that creature has shadow, if that creature is not a kithkin sacrifice it at end of turn.
If a creature deals lethal damage to the creature the Ring is attached to, attach the Ring to that creature.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if The Ring is attached to a creature, put a shadow counter on that creature.
When a creature has 5 or more shadow counters, sacrifice it.
Equip 0.
Tony (one of the readers) found it so cool he made a card of it:

I personally like the detail that his card’s art was drawn by Sauron, the Dark Lord himself.
And lately it has come up that one of the Lorwyn cards will be named Oblivion ring. Perhaps we just hit the jackpot!

Incase you havn’t seen your email yet, I sent out a revised version of the Ring. The text is done better and I made it so if the Ring changes hands, it exchanges control as well. Also I made a Frodo and Sauron, though admittedly those aren’t as funny.
