I’m sure everyone who has played Magic has played against a crappy player, and I’m not talking about those newbies that still haven’t mastered the basics of the game, I’m talking about those kind of people that don’t know how to play period! Cocky bastards who despite our efforts just don’t comprehend even some of the basic rules and don’t want to. Some will even try to trick you into their rules (sometimes inadvertedly, others not such).
I play magic for a buttload of years and I still make mistakes (yes, even some dumb ones!), but I humbly take any comment about me being wrong and will promptly admit it if I am in fact making a mistake. If I’m not sure about a rule I always call a judge to dismiss my doubts, hell, sometimes I even call him just to comfort my adversary so he doesn’t think I’m pulling a leg on him. Not n00bs, they’re always right and don’t need judges for anything, I believe that some have dreams where some DCI judge comes next to him and says: “Oh boy you’re the greatest natural rules guru I’ve ever know, please take a test for Judge level 5 immediately, Magic needs you!”.
So, if you’re a n00b, grow up and learn that everyone makes mistakes, that’s just a part of improving your game and you’ll get a lot more friends if you stop bitching and whining when you’re not right.
So that’s me in the comic right there (and no, I’m not the n00b), I don’t really have a “Vanilla 2/2″ shirt, but that’s ’cause that’s just a comic, I have all kinds of abilities in real life: first strike, trample, vanishing (mainly when I spot n00bs trying to trade cards) and protection from Goblins (’cause you just never know when a goblin might show up and ruin your day)!
What do you think of the Magic News feed on the right of the news? Handy? Cool? Smashing? Plain idiotic? Send your opinions.
UG Madness, the other Magic comic active along with this one has just reached 300 strips! Go pay a visit! Hope I last as long as Jason, so I can celebrate 300 strips and more! Congrats Jason.
I’d like to thank all the people that mailed me or sent me a private message through the MTG Salvation forums for your feedback. I’m waiting for more people to talk to me and give me tips for the comic and/or he site. I’d also like to thank Sara (my girlfriend) for the help she’s giving me with the comic (that and for all that sealed deck training!).
For the advertisers out there I’d just like to say you can now advertise in this site through Project Wonderful, it’s the cheapest and most balanced way to advertise I could find, you can find more info here, or on their site at Project Wonderful.

Dude, this comic is so exactly like the tournaments I go to every Saturday. Really, it’s scary.

I guess it is.
Actually I haven’t played someone like this for a long time. Lucky me

I remember this back in the day. Grade 9.An annoying Chinese guy, Jeff Zhang, who barely spoke English told me how bad my plays were compared to his, and how he knew the game inside out.
“You no regenerate River Boa, First Strike on Black Knight kill it before it get chance to regenerate!” “But I made a regeneration shield before combat was declared.” “You make that up! There no such thing as regeneration shield!” I produced a Horizon Seed. “Why would they make a card which could only trigger of so sorcery-speed cards like spirits half of the time? Regenerations shields begin when the ability is played, and last until end of turn.”
A long pause ensued. I was sure I won. Then:
“That only work for Kamigawa block. It spiritcraft, it completely different.”
I sometimes wonder if his parents had any children who lived past puberty.
Funny stuff!

Funny story.
Usually it’s the people who “know the game inside out”, that actually don’t know crap about the game.
- I shocked your bear! It’s dead!
-But played a giant growth on it!
- Do you even know what a stack is?

Haha. Me and my friend learned how to play off the 9th edition 2 player set. Unfortunatly we lost the rulebook after one game. For quite a while all creatures assigned damage as if they had trample and the stack was confusing as heck
Fortunantly after I played some FNM we actually learnt the proper rules
